We are stronger together!

WAVE Women Inc. (Women Appropriating Visibility & Empowerment) is an organization located in Rochester, NY, and established in October 2020 by Javannah J. Davis. Soon after, WAVE Women Inc. was elevated to a 501c3 not-for-profit organization in September 2021. W.A.V.E is an affirming and safe space, specifically for black women of TRANSitional experience. We also strive to bridge the gap to keep us in the transgender/GNC community together.

A safe, supportive, and empowering resource for the Transgender community.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower, support, encourage, inspire, elevate voices, promote visibility, education, advocate, fight for social justices, fight for better healthcare services, create mutual aid support (ie. clothing, food, housing, transportation, etc.), create & provide community resources, and bring hope to the underserved BIPOC transgender and gender non-conforming individuals in our communities.

The "WAVE" Objective

The “W.A.V.E Objective” is to reach the hearts and lives of those, not just locally, but in multiple communities all over the world.

Communities that are in need of a sound support system that they can reach out to and find the best resources that are conducive with the needs of BIPOC transfolks, gender non-conforming individuals, other LGBTQIA+ identifying people. We also work to bring awareness and support to ALL black women in our communities. We want to see a W.A.V.E of chapters in multiple cities across the nation and abroad. In every corner of the globe must fight to keep us safe!
